Terms of service

Last updated 5 May 2026

These terms govern access to the ALIAS website and related services. By using ALIAS, you agree to them. If you are using ALIAS on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation.

The service

ALIAS provides booking and communications tools for businesses. Features, availability, and eligibility may change—particularly while we operate an invite-only or controlled beta. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service with reasonable notice where practicable.

Accounts and access

You must provide accurate registration information and keep login credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account unless you notify us promptly of unauthorised use. We may suspend or terminate access for breaches of these terms, risk to the service or others, or legal requirements.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Violate applicable laws or third-party rights
  • Probe, disrupt, or overload our systems; circumvent security; or access data you are not authorised to view
  • Send unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, or harmful content through the service
  • Use the service to send spam or unsolicited bulk communications contrary to law or applicable messaging rules
  • Reverse engineer our software except where expressly permitted by law

Customer data

You retain rights to content and customer data you submit. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display that content solely to provide and improve the service as described in our agreements with you (including our Privacy policy). You represent that you have the rights needed for us to process such data.

Intellectual property

ALIAS, its branding, and our software are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights to use the service as offered, no licence is granted. Feedback you provide may be used without obligation to you.

Third-party services

The service may integrate with third-party platforms (such as authentication or calendar providers). Those services are governed by their own terms; we are not responsible for their availability or practices.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither ALIAS nor its suppliers will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability arising out of these terms or the service will not exceed the greater of what you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred New Zealand dollars (if no fees applied). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service, your content or customer data, or your breach of these terms, except to the extent caused by our wilful misconduct.

General

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts in New Zealand have non-exclusive jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer protections in your country say otherwise. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
